Now who doesn’t want to look good? But why do people still end looking shabby and outdated? Many might say they don’t have the budget to buy trendy clothes, but a limited budget is no excuse to look frumpy. You can get a lot of good stuff for cheap if you get your lazy bum off the couch and start looking. When it comes to budget shopping you don’t have to wait for your next month’s salary. You need to be patient and investigate various options.
Not so long ago a friend and I were on a shopping spree at one of the posh malls in the city. As we were walking, our eyes caught a store a (pair of hot purple Aladdin pants). Now it was a little overpriced at NRs. 1,350. So we decided explore other options. Surprisingly our little exploration helped us find the same pants for NRs. 550 at a different part of town.
Sadly, the malls and high end stores in Kathmandu which claim to sell ‘quality products’ might not be doing so. But people in K-town are too posh to explore places which sell the same items for reasonable prices. Others have this misconception that it would look like a cheap knockoff or just not be durable. A little piece of information to everybody who wants to look trendy: Even a designer outfit will look bad if you do not know how to wear it right. It’s not the price but the way you pcarry off the outfit.
We bring you simple tricks and style steals from around town for budget shopping .
Where does Miss Nepal head for budget shopping?
Sadichha Shrestha, Miss Nepal 2010
I think the best time to go for a budget shopping is during sales. Once I got this really nice pair of shoes when Envy had a 60% discount offer. I got these gorgeous shoes for NRs. 1,000 only, which is such a bargain! I also think Masaala beads in Thamel has really interesting items at very affordable prices.
