Laakhamari is crunchy, flaky texture bread, prepared for ceremonial occasions in the Newar community. Making Laakhamari is a time consuming traditional culinary art and by providing the traditional treat in packages Kasthamandap has made it accessible to a larger mass. The laakhamari is made from pure ghee and lasts for at least a month at room temperature. Kasthamandap’s laakhamari is available in various outlets in Kathmandu, Biratnagar, Pokhara and Itahari and is set be introduced in India, USA and Canada.
