A mirror has too many attributes to it, it gives an undisputed image of truth, reflects all that is real thus, mirrors do not lie. Today, they have also evolved as an invincible part of décor in every household. Balancing the equation of both demand and supply, today’s market provides a huge collection of contemporary wall mirrors in various shapes, sizes, designs and textures.

Mirrors have always fascinated people, history is supposed to have witnessed Egyptians often holding hand mirrors. It has left people complacent. Today, same is happening with the hallways and various rooms of all households.

It has been found that the presence of mirror is a medium of self-awareness; in a mirrored setting, people are bound to work harder, be more helpful and less inclined to cheating. Mirrors in your room give you this impression of living in a kaleidoscope.  It can bring drastic effects in changing our lives if placed at right places and in right directions. Placement of Mirror
In adorning our houses with mirrors, there are a few things we can always keep in mind that will help enhance the area. Narrow pathways give out powerful disturbing energies. It can be rectified by placing a mirror on the right side of the passage; it also makes the space look bigger and the pathway spacious. In rooms with just flat walls, simple mirrors can be used to create illusory doorways and windows. Large mirrors in working areas can help the employees ease out stress. It is always the best to stay on the safe side; for household purposes, mirrors in rectangular, circular and square shapes are healthy for the diversion of energies within the household. It should always be noted, as a ground rule actually, to never place a mirror on south and west walls to avoid disintegration around your private space.

According to the principle of feng shui, it is always better to place mirrors on the wealth-relevant walls with water activation (e.g. fountains, aquariums, etc.). At any time, avoid the direction in which when a mirror is placed, the mess in your room is reflected. It is believed that the unhealthy environment doubles with the reflection.

Feng Shui Dos
Oval, round or square mirrors should be placed in the southeast feng shui area of a home.
Concave mirrors can be placed outside.

Convex mirrors can be placed both inside and outside depending on the protective feng shui element of your home design.

Don’ts
The Bagua Mirror, a powerful feng shui cure should never be used inside home.
Do not hang a mirror that reflects you within five feet of entering your home.
Mirrors with distorted and antiqued surfaces should not be hanged for they give out a lot of negative vibes themselves.

Vastu Shastra Dos
All types of mirror should be placed in the walls of North and East direction.
In bedrooms and dressing rooms, mirrors should be placed at the height of 4-5 feet in such a way that the bed or a standing person is not visible in the mirror.
A mirror in the prayer room reflecting the idols or photos of the deities bring good results.

Don’ts
Mirrors or glass pieces should not be placed at the main gate.
Mirrors should not be placed near children’s’ study table as it causes them to lose their concentration and hampers their focus.
Never place a mirror in the west direction as it interferes with the positive vibes and the aura of the setting.
